Hi friends! After several long weeks away from the blog, I’m back to share these insanely delicious Loaded Vegan Shawarma Fries with you!
Imma keep it short and sweet today. These fries are incredible. The flavor is amazing. They’re easy to make and I guarantee they will be immediately devoured, so I suggest you make a double batch.
I like to use frozen bagged french fries because honestly, who has time these days to make their own? Also, I’m not one to mess with a deep fryer. If you have an air fryer, I’d say go for the homemade version! Otherwise, any bag of frozen hand cut fries will do.
If you’re in a hurry, you may be tempted to skip the spice blend. Don’t do it! The spices on the Loaded Vegan Shawarma Fries really make the all the difference. They’re kinda salty sweet like the fries from Five Guys, but with added Mediterranean spices!
This Loaded Vegan Shawarma Fries recipe makes handy use of my 15-minute Vegan Chicken Shawarma, which by the way, is FANTASTIC to meal prep. Triple or quadruple the recipe and you’ll be eating great all week long!
Authentic Vegan Tzatziki adds another megadose of flavor to this already flavorful dish. Add a pop of tang from some quick pickles onions and you, my friend, have a one way ticket to Flavortown as Guy Fieri would say! (sorry couldn’t resist!)
You are going to be OBSESSED with these Loaded Vegan Shawarma Fries. They are:

- 1 bag frozen fries, hand cut style
- 1 batch vegan chicken shawarma
- 1 cup sunflower tzatiki
- 2 tbsp pickled onion (optional)
- Fry Seasoning
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp coconut sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- Cook the fries according to package instructions, flip half way. Combine the spices into a small bowl. Mix well. Chop the shawarma into ½" pieces.
- When the fries have 5 minutes left, gather them into the center of the pan. Sprinkle the spice blend over the fries and toss well. Place the shawarma in an even layer over the fries and bake for the remaining 5 minutes.
- Top the fries with dollops of sunflower tzatziki (or use hummus) and pickled onion (or sliced red onion.) These are dangerously tasty!
To quick-pickle onions, follow this recipe. Just swap radishes for thinly sliced red onion.

I actually tried it and it was really good. The sunflower tzatziki was amazing, I didn’t taste the sunflower seeds at all. And the shawarma spice (even though different from what I remember) is pretty tasty as well!

Hey Ian!
So glad to hear you enjoyed the recipe! For the “shawarma” spice on the fries, I was going for a bit of a savory sweet vibe like Five Guys fries, if you’ve ever had those. They are positively addictive!
